How We Choose Ingredients (PREVIEW)

How We Choose Ingredients

We don’t begin with ingredients. We begin with purpose.

Before we choose a single oil or botanical, we decide what a formula is for — everyday care, changing skin, or the most sensitive skin — then choose the few ingredients that best serve it.

We start with the actives, not the label

Many products start with a base formula, then add a small amount of a “hero” ingredient — just enough to name it on the front. We do the opposite: we choose a few skin-compatible botanicals for what they actually do, and build the formula around them. The ingredients doing the work are the foundation, not a footnote.

No water, no fillers

Many skincare products are mostly water. Ours contain none — and no fillers either. Every ingredient is an active botanical or a skin-compatible lipid, so the things chosen for your skin are nearly all of what’s in the bottle.

You don’t have to take our word for it. Ingredients are listed in order of how much is used — and on every Oath Co label, the botanicals we build around sit right at the top, not buried at the bottom.

Named, not numbered

We name every ingredient and tell you exactly what it’s for. We keep our precise blend in-house — it’s the formulation we’ve spent time getting right. Transparency about what’s in it; discretion about the exact recipe.

Gentle enough for a newborn

Our Baby & Family range is made for the most delicate skin, so every ingredient is chosen with a newborn in mind — nothing added that could irritate, no fragrance, no essential oils. Held to a baby’s standard, so the whole family can use it with confidence.

What we leave out — and why

No fragrance or essential oils — among the most common causes of irritation, especially for babies and sensitive skin. No silicones — a smooth feel without lasting benefit. No mineral oil — an inexpensive filler; we choose botanical oils instead. No unnecessary fillers — what’s in the bottle is there to work.

Choosing what lasts

Trends come and go. Our approach doesn’t. We choose ingredients because they belong — not because they’re new or expected. Thoughtful choices endure long after trends have passed.
