Balance found. Nothing heavy.
Onyx is our balance collection — a two-part ritual for oily, combination and congestion-prone adult skin.
Oil-prone skin doesn't need less oil. It needs the right ones, chosen not to clog.
If skin is seeking a brighter, more even-looking complexion, Lumen is made for that. For a smoother, more refined appearance, Velvet.
Stripping oily skin tends to backfire. Most products aimed at it are mostly water and detergent, and skin often responds by producing more oil, not less.
Built around three things: balance, compatibility and comfort.
Squalane and watermelon seed oil come first, for balance — both light, non-comedogenic oils chosen for how they behave on skin that congests easily. Jojoba follows, for compatibility — chemically close to skin's own sebum, so it works with oily skin rather than stripping it. Black cumin seed and tamanu come last, for comfort — traditionally used to support congestion-prone and rough-feeling areas. No water, no fillers — the lightweight botanicals sit at the top of the label, where they can actually do something.
Every ingredient in Onyx is chosen for its traditional use in balancing oil-prone skin.
With consistent use, skin gradually feels more balanced. Excess oil appears less noticeable through the day, and congestion-prone areas stay nourished without feeling heavy. Give it several weeks — skin that has been stripped for a long time often takes a while to settle.
Fresh, never heavy.
A lightweight botanical oil for daily use across the whole face, formulated to keep oily or combination skin feeling fresh rather than stripped.
How to use
Apply a few drops to clean skin and massage gently until absorbed. Use daily, morning or evening.
Targeted comfort, where skin asks for it.
A concentrated balm for the areas that want more — rough patches and congestion-prone spots. Designed primarily for targeted use rather than all over.
How to use
Warm a small amount between your fingertips and apply to congestion-prone or rough areas, wherever skin needs additional comfort.
Why Tallow?
We use responsibly sourced, grass-fed tallow for its naturally skin-compatible lipid profile, balanced with squalane and watermelon seed oil so the balm stays light enough for skin that congests easily.
The complete Onyx ritual.
Begin with Onyx Oil, morning and evening, across the whole face. Follow with Onyx Balm wherever skin wants more — congestion-prone areas, rough patches, anywhere asking for attention.
Every Oath Co formula begins with the same promise — not our headline, our baseline.
Should I use the Oil, the Balm, or both?
Start with Onyx Oil across the whole face. Add Onyx Balm only where skin wants more. The Set gives you both.
Can I use them together?
Yes. Apply the oil first, then layer the balm where skin needs more.
Won't putting oil on oily skin make it worse?
It's a fair question. Oily skin is not the same as well-moisturised skin, and stripping it often prompts more oil in response. Onyx uses lightweight, non-comedogenic botanicals chosen specifically for skin that congests easily.
Will Onyx clog my pores?
Both the oil and the balm are formulated with non-comedogenic ingredients. Skin varies, so patch test first if you're prone to congestion.
Can I use the Balm across my whole face?
It's designed for targeted use, but it can be applied more broadly if your skin enjoys a richer finish.
Can I use Onyx with Halo or Ember?
Yes. Onyx is a face collection for adult skin. Halo and Ember are made for the whole family — different jobs, same standard.
Is Onyx suitable for sensitive or reactive-prone skin?
Onyx is fragrance-free and free from essential oils, which are among the most common causes of irritation. As with any new skincare, patch test before first use. If you have specific skin concerns, speak with your healthcare professional.
Why is Onyx fragrance-free?
Fragrance and essential oils are among the most common causes of skin irritation, and a single listing of 'parfum' can cover dozens of undisclosed components. We leave them out. Onyx smells of what's in it.
As we use natural ingredients, slight variation in colour and texture between batches is normal.
